The AKL - International Laser Technology Congress has been organized by the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT Aachen for almost 30 years. In addition to the core conference, the first day will once again be dominated by parallel specialist forums with deep dives on the topics of functional surfaces, AI-supported photonics and quantum technology. The first part of the forum will provide an overview of various surface treatment processes, for example to improve tribology, wear and corrosion protection of stressed components and the manufacture of the most complex components. The second part of the forum will focus on electronic coatings and optical surfaces.
Other topic-related sessions will provide an opportunity to deepen knowledge of current trends in laser technology. The sessions will cover topics such as the influence of quantum technology and photonics, as well as the impact of digitalization and AI on future business models. A special highlight of the event is the presentation of the Innovation Award Laser Technology 2024, which is awarded every two years by the Arbeitskreis Lasertechnik e.V. and the European Laser Institute ELI e.V.
