The Stuttgart trade fair LASYS will no longer be held as an independent trade fair in the future. Instead, laser material processing will be thematically expanded at other events.

Since the premiere of LASYS in 2008, the laser industry has evolved greatly. Back then, the presentation of a fiber laser was announced as one of the highlights in one of the first press releases, but technological development has progressed rapidly since then. In the meantime, EUV lasers have increasingly become the focus of interest. In recent years, topics such as digitization, automation and AI-supported production processes have also gained in importance. The laser is playing to its strengths as a multifunctional, flexible tool and is opening up ever new areas of application. Modern manufacturing processes in battery production, medical technology or the semiconductor or solar industry would not be possible without lasers.

In order to take the range of possible applications into account, Messe Stuttgart has decided to use and specifically strengthen the topic of laser material processing in the industrial environment at established own events. As a result, LASYS will no longer be held as an independent trade fair. "Lasers, optics and photonics continue to be of enormous importance for Messe Stuttgart. We want to use our networks and transform our contacts to provide the stage for the subject areas that meet the goals of our exhibitors. We are planning special areas and specialist program content at our trade fairs - for example at Quantum Effects, NORTEC, AMB, VISION, TecStyle Visions, wetec and Moulding Expo," summarizes Sebastian Schmid, Member of the Management Board.
