Components for high-voltage systems are subject to particularly stringent safety and quality standards - even when it comes to coating. Hitachi Energy is a company that manufactures this type of component. In Brno, the company coats aluminum tubes up to twelve meters long, which have different geometries inside and a diameter of up to 0.80 meters. In order to double production capacity without compromising on safety and quality standards, Hitachi invested in a modern HDLV dense phase robot system. This was designed and built by HDLV supplier Nordson.
Brno is now home to two Nordson ColorMax E powder coating systems with robotic coating guns. The new robotic powder plant includes two Encore HD manual coating systems. The integrated powder guns provide powder-independent, high-quality, fast coatings that can be repeated at any time. The inner surfaces of the pipes are coated with two Encore HD powder guns mounted on two ABB painting robots. The combination of robots and Nordson dense phase technology has enabled Hitachi to double production capacity.
