The Danish manufacturer of steel beams and rafters wanted to improve the quality and throughput of its coating. He decided against the wet paint coating normally used in the industry, as powder coating offers better corrosion protection and high surface quality with minimal environmental impact. Planning and installation of Nordson's dense phase powder coating system was quick and straightforward. The ColorMax E powder coating booth was up and running in the 14,000-square-meter shop within a few weeks. The 4.3-meter-long and 7.2-meter-high system automatically coats the bulky steel beams. The ColorMax E system is designed for fast color changes - these can be carried out within just 15 minutes. The special feature: The conveyor speed can be varied depending on the size of the product, making it very efficient. The Danish manufacturer now coats twice as many steel components with the same amount of powder as before, a major advance.
