Despite the challenges, Audi successfully completed the 2021 fiscal year: The Group reports record operating profit and net cash flow in its annual report.

Sales in the past fiscal year were around 53 billion euros. The operating profit reached 5.5 billion euros and the operating return on sales 10.4 percent. The net cash flow of 7.8 billion euros demonstrates the Audi Group's high level of self-financing. The Group cites active management of the semiconductor shortage and high cost discipline as drivers of the positive development. Audi has consistently pursued its transformation course and increased deliveries of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) by 57.5 percent, it said.

"Audi has a clear plan for the electric and digital future with its 'Vorsprung 2030' strategy," said CEO Markus Duesmann. "The company impressively demonstrated last year that we are on the right track with the transformation of our business model toward CO2-neutral, connected mobility." The growth in deliveries of BEV vehicles confirms the company's clear course toward e-mobility. Audi handed over a total of 81,894 (52,011) fully electric vehicles to customers, 57.5 percent more than in the previous year. The new Audi Q4 e-tron models with 21,098 units and Audi e-tron GT quattro with 6,896 units are the main contributors.
