The company's products are approved for automotive manufacturers such as Daimler, Audi, VW, Opel, Fiat and Renault. In addition to the Leipzig plant, Lankwitzer operates wheel coating laboratories in Germany and Turkey, and has a growing presence in China.
The transaction follows a series of acquisitions AkzoNobel has made over the past two years, including Grupo Orbis in Latin America, Titan Paints in Spain and Portugal, New Nautical Coatings in the U.S. and, most recently, the planned acquisition of Kansai Paint's African paints and coatings operations.
