On September 27, 2025, Wuppermann Staal Nederland B.V. (WSN) celebrated its 25th anniversary together with around 200 employees. The anniversary event took place in Den Hout in Het Houtse Meer and was opened by Managing Directors Terry Flokstra and Karsten Pronk.
Development since the foundation
The foundation stone for the plant in Moerdijk was laid in September 2000 and production started in February 2001. The site has a wide strip galvanizing line for steel strips with widths of up to 1,550 mm, an integrated strip pickling line, a facility for cold re-rolling and a slitting line with packaging lines. Among other things, hot-dip galvanized wide strip and slit strip are produced, which are designed for tight dimensional tolerances, defined surface quality and long-lasting corrosion protection.
Sustainability and outlook
Since summer 2023, the company has had products in its portfolio under the WTopCarb brand that are manufactured with a significantly reduced carbon footprint. According to the management, WSN is characterized by an efficient structure with short decision-making paths and a high degree of employee loyalty. This will continue to form the basis for future investments and further developments at the Moerdijk site.
