Data and its quality are becoming increasingly important. A large number of sensors are therefore used to provide information about the vehicle, for example to enable autonomous driving. However, they should not be recognizable as such, but on the contrary should be optimally integrated into the vehicle design.
In order to drive autonomously, a wealth of ambient information must be processed in real time. To achieve this, developers rely not only on cameras but also on radar and lidar sensors. As a rule, they are only a few centimeters in size - which is entirely in line with the vehicle designers' intentions. Ideally, however, they should be completely invisible so as not to interfere with the vehicle's appearance. This challenge has been taken up by the surface specialists of the Benseler group of companies. The result is a new coating process.
