Evomat® instead of washing machine

The cleaning process with Sword Brushes requires very little maintenance and achieves a consistently high cleaning performance even in continuous operation. The precise conveying system of the new EVO 500 enables precise positional transport with the loading robot, even with narrow multiple blanks.

Even the smallest particles on the surface of blanks can have serious consequences during forming: The particles damage the press tools and cause irreversible indentations in the sheets. Costly reworking and a high reject rate are the result. In numerous press shops, the Evomat® developed by Wandres GmbH micro-cleaning has replaced conventional blank washing machines. In practice, this results in significant advantages.

The dry cleaning process eliminates the costly and high-maintenance application of washing emulsions or oils. Most of the base oil remains on the surface and is homogenized by the wiping motion of the brushes. Aluminum blanks that have been coated with hot melts can also be cleaned without problems using this process. The alternating production of steel and aluminum is significantly simplified.

A thermally assisted self-cleaning process (see animation) reliably removes even waxy contaminants from the filaments of the brushes and ensures consistently high cleaning quality. The linear brushes used are produced to the highest quality standards and have an average service life of 4,000 hours. Since the working chamber is mounted on a pneumatically controlled pressure buffer, different sheet thicknesses are automatically compensated and tailored blanks are optimally cleaned with uniform brush contact pressure (see Fig. 1).

The transport rollers of the EVO 500, which are driven on both sides, ensure reliable feeding even of several small blanks next to each other. The pressure force of the rollers can be precisely adjusted with pneumatic cylinders. The conveying speed is infinitely variable between 0 and 180 m/min. The precise conveying system enables position-accurate onward transport with the loading robot.
