At Automechanika Frankfurt 2026, Axalta will showcase several solutions for digitized and more automated processes in automotive refinish shops. The Refinish Ecosystem connects the paint brands Cromax, Spies Hecker, and Standox with digital applications and other refinish products. These include Irus for color management, Nimbus for ordering and training processes, and Drivus for operational workflows.
A key innovation is Irus AutoDose. This compact system automates the dosing process during paint mixing and is designed specifically for medium-sized automotive refinish shops. It complements the fully automated Irus Mix system.
Automatic dosing for up to twelve color toners
Irus AutoDose accommodates up to twelve toners simultaneously and is thus intended to cover frequently used color formulas in particular. Even complex formulas can be mixed within six minutes. Automatic dosing is designed to reduce mixing deviations and material waste. The system is designed for Cromax EZ+, Spies Hecker Hi-FLX, and Standox Standoflow.
With Axalta Synergy, the paint manufacturer is also introducing a joint brand for ancillary products such as cleaners, additives, and UV products. This includes the new Synergy UV-A system for spot and minor damage repairs. The goal is to handle minor repairs separately and with short curing times, so that they take up less capacity in the spray booth.
UV-A System Shortens Curing Time for Minor Damage
The single-component AXS504 UV-A primer-filler cures within one minute. For the AXS700 UV-A clear coat, a three-minute flash-off time is followed by one minute of UV-A curing using a handheld lamp. The clear coat is applied in 1.5 spray passes and can be applied using either a spray gun or an aerosol can.
Another new product is the Raptor VX protective coating for applications including commercial fleets, the marine sector, and light industry. It is designed for shorter process times and is combined with a corresponding substrate system consisting of adhesion promoters as well as acid-etched and epoxy primers.
